Cheesy Penguin Breads are Cheddar and Parmesan rolls with a hint of mustard and cayenne pepper. Great for kids to make.
Great British Chefs have just launched their free Cooking with Kids App in association with Tesco where you can find some fabulous seasonal recipes.
I was invited to re-create one of these recipes with my daughter and after having a look at all the tasty offerings I knew immediately which recipe we had to make – Cheesy Penguins Breads by Andy Waters. I say we, what I mean is which recipe she could make.
The beauty of all the recipes is that however young your children are they will be at least a few steps along the way that they can help out with. There are also lots of really useful videos showing children basic skills in the kitchen.
As my daughter is 10 and a mean bread maker I just sat back and watched her do her thing and took the photos!
I do still place her creations in and out of the oven but should probably start letting her do that too now.
Not only did my daughter enjoy grating all the cheese, kneading and making the penguin shapes but she also had to use her mathematics skills along the way which is a bonus.
These Cheesy Penguin Breads not only looked cute but they tasted absolutely divine and we enjoyed them with a bowl of onion soup. They would certainly make a lovely addition to a Christmas Buffet.
Do go and check out this and all the other Kids recipes over at Great British Chefs and get cooking with you kids!
NB: Sponsored post all opinions are my own.
