Deliciously moist cake thanks for the recipe. I reduced the sugar to 100g and added 2 large spoons of lime marmalade. It made 24 squares of mouthwatering “yummyness!!”

It wouldn’t be as good as you wouldn’t get the correct lime icing to cake ration, you’d have more cake and not enough icing, plus I don’t know what size of loaf tin you’d need. I’d say a round tin would be a better swap. I’m sure there are websites that tell you what size tins equate to others or the changes in cooking times needed.

Can I use a loaf tin I don’t have a square tin thanks .

Hi Aarthi, perhaps your oven runs hotter than mine, this shouldn’t be a crumbly cake at all. Maybe knock a couple of minutes off and test with a skewer next time. More sharpness, maybe add more lime juice to the icing or ditch the icing and mix lime juice with sugar so it seeps in more. Hi Fiona, no all my oven temperatures are for conventional ovens. That said I have a fan oven but everything comes out half raw if I use the fan temperature suggested in recipes or on packs of frozen food!

Absolutely lovely… and so easy! I did need go bake it for more like 60 mins before skewer came out clean though…

Utterly love citrus in cakes, looks so good!

I wouldn’t do that as I have never seen citrus added to a cake mix, you really get a refreshing zing by adding the lime juice to the icing which soaks into the cake so no need anyway.
