Do not adjust your set, yes I know this isn’t food related but I just had to share this review of the HoMedics Shiatsu Max 2.0 Back & Shoulder Massager with Heat with you! For many years, well ever since I started working in an office in my twenties I have suffered with problems like neck stiffness and a bad back (throw in a couple of crashes on the dodgems and carrying babies in car seats etc years later). In the last few years I have added sciatica to the list which now comes and goes. So over the years I have progressed from a hand held massager for neck and shoulder tension, a small portable shiatsu massager and then eventually bought a HoMedics Shiatsu Back & Shoulder Massager. My model is so old and basic (no heat) it’s not even made any more and must be at least 8 years old.
So step up the HoMedics Shiatsu Max 2.0 Back & Shoulder Massager with Heat, oh my, the difference was amazing! I have been recommending my old HoMedics massager to friends for years but had no idea the technology had moved on so much! My old massager was like having a gentle massage from a lady whereas with the new version it’s like having a powerful massage from man with bigger hands. You also have the option to have a heated massage which isn’t necessary on a hot summer’s day but when the weather gets colder this will be totally invaluable. There’s nothing worse than muscle tension and feeling cold at the same time so the heat is a brilliant idea and features on all of the seat style shiatsu massagers in the HoMedics range.
The HoMedics Shiatsu Max 2.0 is very easy to operate from a remote control so you can focus on the areas you want to work on (upper, middle or lower back). A demo button takes you through all the features to enable you to get to know the massager. There are 2 types of massage available (provided by the 2 x 2 massage nodes), the shiatsu massage (a deep kneading circular massage) and a rolling massage (like 2 hands or thumbs working up your back). You can adjust the height of the massage with the click of a button and you can also adjust the width of the rolling massage. For safety there is a timer which ends the massage after 15 minutes.
So is that it, I hear you ask? No, there’s one more feature which I didn’t have on my old model, a vibration massage button which gives an invigorating vibration massage to upper legs and thighs. This can be utilised at the same time as having your back massaged!
My whole family have enjoyed testing out this new massager (suitable for children from age 8 upwards) which we keep strapped to an older maternity rocking chair. My hubby would have liked a preset feature, like a longer version of the demo feature or perhaps a way of setting up a series of sequences and it remembering. My son being quite skinny found it dug in slightly but the rest of us didn’t have this problem. I just love the HoMedics Shatsu Max 2.0 and know that it’s going to help keep my muscles relaxed even better now. Sitting a computer for long periods is no good for any of us and so I think this is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day.
RRP £299.99
NB: Please seek advice from your doctor if you have any medical issues, a pace maker or are pregnant before using this machine. I received the HoMedics Shiatsu Max 2.0 for review purposes, was not paid and all opinions are my own.

Me too on the bad back front and my best solution, when I can afford, is to get a really good deep tissue massage every few weeks. Expensive though and this looks very fairly priced.

I was going to come and wave you over to read this as I think this would be perfect for you Kavey.
