Made this today. Twice. Once with peanut butter that had added sugar, and then with sugar-free, both smooth. I preferred the sugar-free, a more savory taste. I also used a GF Cassava wrap. This is an easy recipe when there is little time to prepare. It’s also a good way to get some quick protein, carbs, fiber, and it’s a delicious combo.

I have a glut of walnuts so have used walnut butter instead. It gives it a more textured darker colour.
Oh and tongue…..I remember liking it until I found out it was actual tongue! Heaven knows what I imagined it was.
Cab still buy it at the butchers. In French supermarkets you can buy whole tongues to cook at home! They are huge and bluish!

I would really love to try this, we love peanut butter but since my daughter has the allergy we don’t bring peanut products into the house. It looks soooo good 😉

I love houmous and peanut butter but never tried them together. I’ve still not give my 2 year old peanut butter for fear of an allergic reaction, this might be ideal as a first try for him.

Peanut butter is fantastic stuff, so versatile. I too have neglected a jar of tahini in the cupboard after using it a couple of times then forgetting about it. Love the addition of the smoked paprika too, one of my favourite spices.

My Danish grandad was a butcher too Janice and 2 of his sons became butchers! I remember having delicious home-made pork scratchings that you just don’t get in butchers in Britain. I haven’t seen tongue for sale since the BSE crisis so not sure if it’s sold anymore?
