Italian Tomato Spaghetti with Bertolli - Fab Food 4 All

I love pasta dishes and I have a few that I fall back on time and again which rely on mainly store cupboard ingredients, great for those days when you haven’t had time to plan anything! So when Bertolli asked if I’d like to recreate one of their many fabulous pasta dishes I made a beeline for this Italian Tomato Spaghetti.

It’s  so quick and easy and makes great use of store cupboard ingredients! The puttanesca style tomato sauce is packed full of anchovies, olives, capers and garlic for a really authentic Italian flavour. The recipe uses Bertolli Original Spread which is made with olive oil and it gives a lovely creaminess to the flavour. Did you know Bertolli contains 74% less saturated fat than butter?

My family loved this Italian Tomato Spaghetti and the only thing I added to it was a dash of black pepper as we do like our pepper but if you don’t then you could leave it out!

I have to say I have been a late comer to the caper and anchovy party but now I can’t have enough of them! I will definitely be making this dish regularly as it is so simple to make and uses ingredients I usually have to hand.

Do check out the Bertolli pasta recipe page as there are so many other quick and delicious meal ideas!

Love that first shot Camilla. It looks so good and I can easily leave the anchovies out for a veggie version.

Thanks Jacqueline, would probably need something else with a strong flavour as a substitute in that case:-)

I love pasta and you have made it look so tasty and colourful. Never tried the spread, do you think it makes a difference?

It did make the pasta dish creamier tasting and I will no longer freak out when I run out of oil when making other pasta dishes as I know I can use Bertolli spread now;-)

Looks very tasty, I don’t like olives but my hubby loves them, he said I need to make this and pick out the olives on my portion!

Thanks Joanne, if you eat something 20 times eventually you will like it, I used to not like capers or anchovies but now I’m fine with them, maybe you could push through the olive barrier:-)

I like the recipe (I’d leave out the anchovies as I’m not keen on them). I really like the adding of lots of parsley. Mmmm!

Maya, you really don’t even notice the anchovies, I bet you wouldn’t know they were there if I served this to you, they just provide the seasoning:-)

A similar dish to this is always our go-to quick and easy pasta dish. We call it summer spaghetti and I am craving it now. I love Bertolli in pasta too.
