Easy to follow recipe. It was very tasty. I did butterered bread and then the chocolate spread because I thought it would make the bread nice and crispy. I also added a few milk chocolate squares between the bread slices. It was delicious and my daughter and I really enjoyed it for pudding.

I’ve made this several times with a variety of different brioche breads and buns. It became an instant favourite at our house. I’ve just made it for Christmas with extra indulgent ingredients- organic eggs and cream instead of milk. Used chocolate chip brioche buns halved then quartered. Sprinkled the top with white chocolate chunks and oven roasted hazelnuts. It was so divine. It’s been requested as a regular feature for every Christmas in perpetuity! Thank you again for this!

This is, one of my go to recipes and absolutely love it. I’ve made it following this recipe and also adding crushed hazelnuts and dark chocolate chips and today I’ve spread blackcurrant jam on the top of the sandwiches before quartering them and added sour dried cherries. A bit messy but hopefully it will turn out as well as the others I’ve made.

Love this recipe but i put marmalade on top of the Nutella and it taste like Jaffa cakes!

Hi, you can prepare this a few hours ahead and then bake. Just cover and put in fridge until ready.

Yes, definitely serve it hot:-) We’ve never had any leftover so I couldn’t tell you what it’s like cold:-)

Well I bought a largish sized jar of Nutella for £2.50 today which will last quite a long time, I’m afraid I don’t know the price of brioche but you can find it in roll form often in packs or loaf form from a variety of manufacturers (best if you can find it reduced at the end of the day)!

I will have to try this as we all like Nutella in our house and we also like bread & butter pudding. After Xmas you will often find that supermarkets have got Panetone reduced to clear. That also makes an excellent bread & butter pudding, similar in texture to brioche.

I’ve never made a bread and butter pudding but this looks like the perfect way to start. I got a massive jar of nutella for £4 in Lidl and had fancied baking with it.

I agree Brioche makes great B&B pudding. I’ve never thought of making it with chocolate spread though.. good idea…
MMM wonder if the Biscoff spread would taste good too… I feel an experiment coming on!!
