Smokey Maple Roasted Chickpeas are a super tasty healthy snack which taste like maple cured bacon but are vegan and made with sesame oil, smoked paprika, onion granules and maple syrup.
I often daydream about food and for the last few days I’ve been imagining these Smokey Maple Roasted Chickpeas cooked in the ActiFry.
I was actually thinking of a maple cured bacon flavour but settled with using smoked paprika instead which worked really well, hubby actually thought that the chickpeas were bacon flavoured!
As Valentines Day isn’t far away I thought these Smokey Maple Roasted Chickpeas would be the perfect nibble to impress your loved one with a pre-dinner drink. They are both vegan and gluten free so should suit most tastes.
The outer shell is crispy and the middle slightly soft with a sweet, salty, smokey vibe. When my son came back from college he polished off the rest and said “these are really good mum”! What higher recommendation could there be;-)

Wow these look super tasty Camilla… I’m such a savoury snacker, it really is an affliction… so I’m going to have to give these a try. I don’t have an actifry but might try roasting them in the oven instead.
Camilla
Thanks Kate, yes you could try roasting in the oven and adding the maples syrup in the last few minutes.

These look lovely and the maple and paprika flavours sound great! I’d have to try roasting them in the oven, do you have any idea of timings?
Camilla
You could use this recipe from Issy Hossack as a guide, so I’d add all the ingredients at the start and then add the maple syrup in the last few minutes as it would probably burn otherwise. https://www.fabfood4all.co.uk/top-cinnamon-izy-hossack-review-recipe/
