C’est Ça Vintage Bird Cage Kitchen Textile Collection Review & Competition (Closed)

Updated: 21st August 2018 · Published: 25th October 2013

C'est Ca

Competition – I was recently sent a few items from the C’est Ça Vintage Bird Cage Kitchen Textile Collection from ICTC to review. I have to say I just adore the design (based on a Victorian classic) which brings a touch of Mr Selfridge’s chic into your kitchen. All the items in the range (which also includes tea cosies, oven gloves and more aprons) are made in Norfolk from 100% cream cotton etched with black. Here’s what I thought:

Panel Apron £21
Such a pretty apron which gives you retro glamour as soon as you put it on. I think this would be perfect for entertaining as you wouldn’t feel unglamorous if one of your guests caught you wearing it. Indeed I’d probably want to show it off! My only niggle is the neck strap was a bit long on me but if you’re taller or well endowed this wouldn’t be an issue.

Double Oven Glove £16.75
Definitely no style over substance here. I can’t tell you the number of double oven gloves I’ve had over the years as gifts which look really nice but when you come to use them the heat doesn’t take long to get to your fingers. These “dogs” (double oven gloves) are superb at insulating against heat with their thick towelling like reinforced hand area.

Tea Towel £5.75
If like me you hang your tea towel in a prominent place in your kitchen, then this is the one you want to be seen when you have visitors. As we spend so much time in our kitchens it’s nice to have aesthetically pleasing objects around us and this vintage bird cage design puts a smile on my face! I have also washed my tea-towel and I’m happy to say it came out looking the same way it went in. (Please excuse the above photo of tea towel which I  took, rest assured it does match the rest of the collection in real life!)

I love this range and think any of the items from it would make the perfect gift for anyone partial to a bit of vintage chic!

All the items are available through Quality Independent Stores – to find a local stockist call  01603 488019 or visit www.ictc.co.uk
