I’m delighted to bring you a giveaway from Keevil & Keevil, one of London’s oldest butchers and suppliers of fine meats and poultry on Smithfield Market since 1850. We took delivery of their Weekly Meat Box this week and I was very impressed with the way the fresh meat arrived well packaged and chilled as well as the generous size of the portions! There is definitely more than a week’s worth of meat here! I put a couple of items in the fridge, split the sausages into 2 bags and froze the rest of the meat.
So what does the Weekly Meat Box prize consist of I hear you ask! Well feast your eyes:
4 x 220g (8oz) Grass-fed Sirloin Steaks
1 x 1kg Beef Mince
8 x 110g (4oz) Lamb Loin Chops
4 x 220g (8oz) Pork Chops
1 x 1kg Beef Topside Roasting Joint
4 x 190g (7oz) Cornfed Free-range Chicken Supremes – skin on
18 x Premium Cumberland Sausages (1.36kg)
(All the meat in the Weekly Meat Box is British except for the chicken which is from Northern France).
We sampled the Grass-fed Sirloin Steaks on Valentines night and they were so big I had to use my 2 largest frying pans to fit them in. Everyone enjoyed their juicy, tender sirloin steak immensely although my 13 year old struggled to eat more than half due to the size so the rest was made into a steak and horseradish salad roll the following day!

Next we tried the Cornfed Free-range Chicken Supremes which were beautifully succulent and tasty and again of a very generous size. Tonight I’ll be making a big batch of spaghetti bolognese with the beef mince and look forward to cooking and sampling the rest of the meat!

Our loin pork chops at the weekend ended up tiny once we cut off all the fat. I love how they source their meat from farms and small producers.
