Oxo Good Grips Summer Gadgets Giveaway – Closed

Updated: 7th May 2024 · Published: 15th July 2013

Strawberry Huller, Ice Cream Scoop, Cherry Pitter

It’s summer and that means lots of Strawberries, Cherries and Ice Cream so with that in mind I thought that a summer gadget giveaway from Oxo Good Grips would be just the ticket!

My daughter and I had a race the other day to see which was faster, using the Oxo Good Grips Strawberry Huller or using a knife to cut off the stalk like I usually do. I can now confirm that the winner of that race was the Strawberry Huller and I was left red faced with many more strawberries in my punnet to do!

Strawberry Huller

When I unwrapped the Oxo Good Grips Cherry/Olive Pitter my daughter pitted an entire punnet of cherries before I could have a go! Again it was so quick and easy and almost like a stapler with a similar gratifying sound as the stone popped out at speed. Unlike our old cherry pitter which splashed the work top, your clothes and the wall this one has a brilliant splatter guard and therefore your hands don’t get dyed purple either. (My white trousers are very thankful for this new gadget)!

Oxo Good Grips Cherry Pitter

Finally the Oxo Good Grips Beak Ice Cream Scoop is a fabulous gadget designed to tackle hard ice creams with it’s thin pointed aluminium beak! I regularly struggle to scoop ice cream when it’s straight from the freezer but this gadget makes it far easier and it even has a button which when pressed knocks the ice cream out of the scoop.

(Shirley Temple cherries are soaked in red grape juice, water, sugar, lemon juice and a drop of almond essence then, just boil for 10 minutes then allow to cool, my kids love them as part of an ice cream sundae)
