I don’t know about you but I’m passionate about design and function so when the 2 come together in one product I’m a very happy person. Irish designer and ‘Queen of prints’ Orla Kiely has teamed up with premier kitchen and homeware brand Brabantia and her world famous stem design now adorns their iconic Retro Bin. The sprig and leaf motif is available in cream on charcoal with an orange lid, and charcoal on cream with a yellow lid. The Charcoal Linear and Cream Linear Stem designs are available in 12, 20 and 30 litres.. You open the lid with a light pedal tap and it closes smoothly and silently, so no banging and clattering and as you don’t need your hands to open it it’s also very hygienic! On top of that the Brabantia Retro Bins come with a 10-year guarantee.

I have been getting to know the 30-litre Retro Bin (with yellow lid) for the past few weeks and it has not only brightened up my kitchen but it has saved me an awful lot of time. I used to make numerous trips to the garage with my empty plastic bottles and cardboard where I had a bag and now I have a cool stylish bin in the kitchen with ample capacity so I do not have to make as many trips to the outdoor bin either. Of course, you can use your bin for any kind of refuse you like and Brabantia makes bin liners to fit all their bins.
The Brabantia Retro Bin retails at 12 Litre – £95, 20 Litre – £122, and 30 Litre – £132 and Brabantia are kindly offering you the chance to win one of these bins.

30 litre with yellow lid please
Caroline & Sebby
I prefer the orange colour than the yellow but it would definately ideally be the 30 litre for us- with ‘nomal’ cheap ugly bins (as we have always had) it is absolutely paramount that they are small enough to be hidden away inside a kitchen cupboard and still be useable.
But this bin of beauty, if I ever get my hands on one, will not be hidden away but will stand proudly in the middle of my kitchen maling everything (and everyone) else look decidedly dreary. The bigger the better! 🙂
George Wright

The 12 litre one. I have a Brabantia pedal bin (30l) and it served me well for over a decade. However my children have left home now and I want (and need only) a smaller model. Since the old one is still fine, albeit a bit worn and the pedal system is a bit dodgy, I need a justified excuse to get a new one. An Orla Kiely one would be that excuse. And the fact that I have now a tiny kitchen.

Definitely the 30L bin for us, I hate going out to empty the bin in winter, as my wheelie bin is down a set of steps at the side of the house, which means I have to unlock the gate which won’t stay shut on its on and invariably every time I enter the bin, the dog escapes through the gate grrrrrrr!
claire fawkner
30 l one! With six of us in the house we really need a big bin
Ursula Hunt
The 12L this is big enough so stale food etc is not in the kitchen for too long
Evette Gabriella Williams

ashleigh allan
30 – we always seem to have loads of rubbish
Monica Gilbert
I would love the 30 liter bin. Our current bin is not quite big enough for the entire week, so I often have to store the full trash bag under our sink. I could then use our current bin for all the recycling that’s taking up valuable counter space.
J Schofield
The 12 litre as would come in so handy
Andrew
The 12 litre should be big enough for the 2 of us,thanks.
Scott Walliss

Probably the 30L, as we tend to get through a lot of rubbish, even though we recycle and have a composter. Although, say that, I would have to see what size my current one is, as I wouldn’t want one too much bigger.

The biggest. just so I can hide in it and jump out on people 🙂

Helen G
A big one as we get through so much!

30 litre , I’ve got a new dog a rescue that keeps getting into my bin , so a much larger one would make it harder for her to knock over , and I love the retro design. Would go with my retro style kitchen. Happy Easter!

I would love the 30 litre for my daughter who has just moved house. I have had 2 Brabantia bins (one for recycling and one for general rubbish) for years and they are excellent. I have had to claim a new lid for one of them under guarantee because my lot never empty the recycling and slam the lid down but other than that the bins are as good as new. I’d never buy anything else.

Nickie C
I’d like the 30L bin as I’d use it for my recycling (that bin is too pretty to put old scuzzy rubbish in!). Since the recycling tends to be bulkier, and is only collected every other week, the larger bin would save me trips to the wheelie bin like I do now!
