Beef and Vegetables Stir Fry with Noodles (ActiFry Express Recipe) is the perfect fakeaway as it’s far healthier than a Chinese takeaway. Quick, easy and delicious, you’ll want to make this again & again!
I was recently sent the new ActiFry Express XL by Tefal and given a recipe for Beef and Vegetables Stir Fry with Noodles to recreate at home.
It’s all part of Tefal’s ActiFryDays challenge where they are challenging the public to cook a dish at home in their ActiFry rather than having a takeaway. After researching 2,000 participants Tefal found that as a nation our favourite takeaway is Chinese but worryingly we are eating 12,000 tonnes of fat each year from takeaways.
The most popular night for ordering a takeaway is unsurprisingly a Friday – isn’t that when most of us flag?
When we order takeaways we tend to over order and are oblivious to the fat and calories. As the ActiFry air fries with the minimum of oil you can cook dishes with far less fat than used in traditional takeaways.
So the idea is to have a Friday night treat that is guilt free using the ActiFry instead! For more nutritional information, stats and recipes head over to Tefal’s ActiFryDay challenge page.
I made the Beef and Vegetables Sir Fry with Noodles for the family and it was such a big hit we had it the following Friday as well. My hubby even remarked that the dish was in fact better than any of our local Chinese takeaways.
I was given a choice of dishes to choose from but choose this one as it is so quick and simple to make with the minimum of fuss. The only preparation needed is to slice up some steak and mix water into some hoisin sauce – the ActiFry Express does pretty much the rest !
You could make this dish quicker than the time it takes to decide on your takeaway and pick up the phone and being far healthier it’s a win/win situation. The recipes states that it serves 6 but unless you’re serving it with another dish I’d say it serves a family of 4 as a meal and would just use 50 g less noodles.
I was very impressed with the new ActiFry Express XL as it cooks a lot faster (30%) than the original model and anything that saves time in the kitchen is always welcome. More time eating and less time cooking is always my ethos!
I do hope you try this recipe and do let me know in the comments what your favourite takeaway is. I’m off to create some more quick and healthy takeaway dishes in my new ActiFry Express – I do hope you feel inspired to do the same!

Can I use frozen veggies in this recipe?
Camilla
Hi Kim, I’ve never tried but I imagine so, just might take a little longer to cook.
Amy Fidler
Ive got one of these,so ill be trying this x
Camilla
So good Amy, we’ve had this many times:-)
Sarah James
Looks delicious Camilla, I love beef and hoisin sauce. Bookmarked for later 🙂
Camilla
Can’t take credit for the recipe as from ActiFry but this is a firm favourite in our house now and so very easy:-)
Martina Evans
Brilliant recipe, I just love a good stir fry. This Tefal Actifry sounds like a great idea. I would love to purchase one in the near future.
Camilla
I make this so often now Martina and change the meat or sauce too – love my ActiFry:-)
Paul Wilson
Love a nice stir fry.
Paul Wilson
Quick and tasty – just the thing for me.

How I long for an Actifry (or similar frier) to make healthier meals! The Chinese dish you made looks full of healthy veg and looks so delicious.
Camilla
We love the ActiFry, it gets used all the time and this dish is fab:-)

I have an Actifry that’s a couple of years old now, and I love your recipe for Beef and noodles – will defin itely be trying this out. I’ve made risotto, Bolognese and Chicken Tikka Masala in mine and it really does cook chips, roasties, etc. very well. I have seen the Redmond Multi-cooker too and that’s next on my list!! From a healthy point of view, I’ve never owned a deep-fat fryer, but just knowing that I can use it for this – occasionally – is appealing (aswell as the bread-making, steaming and all the rest of its functions!)… I’m lucky enough to have solar panels fitted so I tend to bake in the fan oven on sunny days to keep costs down. We manage far differently nowadays, don’t we?!
Camilla
I love my Actifry and this recipe is now one of our favourites as it’s so quick and easy. I love that the Actifry is like a spare pair of hands when I’m cooking. I haven’t tried the Redmond Multicooker yet but it might be in the pipeline:-)

Would you buy the ActiFry? I am a bit torn. My trusted and beloved Remoska packed it in and I think about replacing it. But I am also eyeing the ActiFry. However money is not endless.
And there is also my sister badgering me with the Thermomix….
Decisions, decisions..
Camilla
Hand on heart I would buy the ActiFry and I even persuaded one of my neighbours to get one as well as brother in law. I used it tonight for some frozen chips and find I’m using it at least twice a week so have had to put the slow cooker in the cupboard:-) I love that it uses far less fat than frying or roasting usually does and it’s so easy to clean – I could go on:-)
Sybil
Thanks for your answer. I also downsized (due to the fact that all my children left home now) and have now a smaller kitchen, so my love for gadgets becomes a problem. I don’t see myself using the big slow cooker very often and my trusted pressure cooker is too big for a single person.
Basically I look for ONE gadget which chops, freezes, bakes, fries, cooks, irons, hoovers and cleans behind the kitchen sink. I make adjustments as I go along.
Since Rosie (from “The Jetsons”) has not emerged (despite it being promised to me during my childhood) I will certainly look very carefully at the Tefal.
Camilla
LOL – I loved the Jetsons as a kid too:-)

This is a delicious recipe – add some crispy (deep fried!) noodles for extra crunch.
DANIELLE VEDMORE
I love a stir fry! So quick – I haven’t got an Actifry yet (need to save up) but my friend swears by hers – it can cook anything! Although my favourite meal that she cooks for me is chips! So tasty with just a bit of oil 🙂
Camilla
I need to run a comp for an ActiFry really don’t I Danielle!
Renée ♥ The Good Hearted Woman

Ursula Hunt
Great recipe, didn’t realise you could do this with an actifry
Heather Haigh
That looks really tasty. It amazes me what you can cook with an Actifry.
Camilla
Yes it’s so versatile:-)
Sarah @tamingtwins
This looks delicious, such a great way of cooking. I made Chicken Tikka Masala in mine and it was super. We will be having it again and again I think!
Camilla
Good to know, I nearly plumped for that so will try it out soon:-)
Kavey
Looks really nice. I’m curious about the actifry but not sure we would use it enough to justify.
Camilla
Kavey it’s used at least twice a week here and I’ve hardly scratched the surface of what it can do I just love it for the healthy way it cooks and the brilliant results it gives.
Fuss Free Helen
Anything for a healthier, and cheaper take on a takeaway.
Interesting that the new Actifry cooks faster – does it stir faster too? I do not know why they do not have a vaiable temperature?
Camilla
No the paddle spins at the same rate otherwise the food would be pulverised LOL:-) I can’t see a reason to have a variable temperature as the food cooks in a definite amount of time perfectly. You don’t deep fry at variable temperatures.
Jo of Jo's Kitchen
Looks delicious! I made this one too. We are having it for dinner tonight as it was so tasty!
Camilla
Do you know I never even knew you could buy hoisin sauce even! A firm favourite here now;-)
