I recently thought it would be really interesting to find out from a few bloggers what they cooked most from their own blogs. This was a very tough question indeed! Of course we have many favourites but the recipes we tend to make the most are the quick and easy ones where you barely need to think. So here are 10 bloggers’ favourite recipes which I hope will also now become your favourites too!
- Saumone en Papillote from Helen at Croque Maman
This is the recipe I make the most, every other week I’d say. It is healthy, quick & easy and delicious… what more could you wish for? - Anchovy, Chilli and Caper Pasta from Helen at Fuss Free Flavours
Here Helen proves that just a few tasty ingredients, cooked simply, can combine to make the tastiest of dishes. I’m not surprised she makes it often as it’s so quick and easy! - Petetree’s Cheesey Potato Bake from Kavey at Kavey Eats
“Many years ago Pete and I spent a couple of weeks attending a French language school in Bordeaux. One of the local restaurants we visited a few times during that fortnight was a cheese and wine specialist, behind a wine shop. They had their own cheese cave downstairs. This simple cheese and potato bake is inspired by a dish we enjoyed there and we make it at least once a month as we love it. It’s endlessly adaptable by changing the mix of cheeses and I even made a butternut squash variation recently.”
- The Boy Who Bakes Chocolate Chunk Cookie Recipe from Judith at Mostly About Chocolate
“I’ve been making these chocolate chip cookies pretty much since Edd’s book came out. I remember thinking ‘HOW much chocolate?!?’ when I first read it but after making it the first time and Edd recommending freezing the cookies in pre-made balls I make this pretty much constantly. Every 3 months or so I make another batch using left-over chocolate from my reviews chopped up for the chocolate chips. Always a perfect mix and when rolled in 45g balls and frozen they last for ages. I bake them from frozen when I want a fast treat or when I have guests coming over.”
- Mexican Coleslaw from Danii at Hungry, Healthy, Happy
“We make this so often as it is so quick and easy to make and it is a healthy twist on a classic side. Mexican food is a favourite in our house, so it gets made once a week.” - Wholemeal Savoury Swirls from Michelle at Utterly Scrummy Food for Families
“My girls and I regularly make these for packed lunches. They are perfect for using up leftovers, easily adaptable, and so easy to make that my girls can whip up a batch themselves. They also freeze well so are great for baking in bulk.” - Chilli con Carne – My Way from Jen at Blue Kitchen Bakes
“This is my ultimate comfort food dish because it reminds me of home even though my recipe has evolved quite a bit from the original version my Mum taught me.” - Cajun Spiced Black Bean and Sweet Potato Burgers from Jacqueline at Tinned Tomatoes
After experimenting with spice blends one day this vegan burger has become a firm favourite in Jacqueline’s household! - Broccoli and Chorizo Mac and Cheese Pots from Katie at Feeding Boys and a Firefighter
“Macaroni cheese is one of my all time favourite family suppers, you just can’t beat it for a spot of autumnal comfort food. My mum’s macaroni cheese was always so inviting, especially when she popped some bacon on top with cheese and breadcrumbs and whipped it under the grill until it went crispy. Divine. So i’ve developed my own little version using a chorizo, cheese and polenta crust for a slightly different take. Making them in individual dishes means you can customise the toppings for the different tastes in your family. Especially if you have a vegetarian in your midst!” - Quiche Lorraine with Slow Cooked Pulled Gammon by me at Fab Food 4 All
“Well I had to give you one of my favourite recipes didn’t I? I make all manner of quiches on a regular basis and always use ready rolled puff pastry which fits neatly into a lasagne tin and is much more forgiving than shortcrust pasty! There’s never any shrinkage or soggy bottoms! While the quiche is in the oven cooking I make a nice mixed salad and there are always clean plates all round!”
Well I for one am very happy to have discovered these gems and I hope that they have inspired you too. Do let me know in the comments below what takes your fancy and also what recipe you would have added if I’d asked you for your favourite dish?
Katie Bryson
This is such a brilliant idea Camila, and thanks so much for including me! I’m printing this out and keeping it for some meal inspiration. I feel in a total rut with it being the holidays and having less time to think and plan what we’re eating.
Camilla
A pleasure Katie. I can totally relate to the rut during the holidays and have also had a virus to contend with! Roll on the new term! x
Sally - My Custard Pie
Gorgeous round up – what a nice idea
Camilla
Thanks Sally:-)
Nazima
lovely idea to present this Camilla – what people who write about food come back to again and again must be compelling reason to make it!
Camilla
Thank you Nazima. It occured to me that no-one knows when they look at a blog which are the dishes that the bloggers make all the time and so I decided to share a few of these dishes:-) I’m going try these for sure!
Jen @ Blue Kitchen Bakes

It is fascinating Jen and a pleasure to feature your Chilli – I would have added my Turkey Chilli which we make all the time but didn’t want to over chilli the post LOL;-)
kellie@foodtoglow
What a great idea for a post! I am always nosey about what other food bloggers get up to when just cooking for themselves. Wondering no longer!
Camilla
Thanks Kelie! Maybe I could do a few more posts like this in the future although editing the pics did send me into a tail spin as it’s not something I do all the time so am quite slow at it!
Paul Wilson
