In association with The Works
I like nothing better than to pop into The Works and it’s a rare event if I walk out empty handed as they sell so many great products and at bargain prices! So pull up a chair and check out My Hot Foodie Picks for Summer, I think some of the items will surprise you as much as they did me!
Itsu 20 Minute Suppers – Blanche Vaughan £4 rrp £18.99
I love quick meals and I was recently introduced to Itsu by my daughter and had a fabulous bite to eat there on one of our girly shopping trips. Japanese food is so on trend right now due to its healthy, mainly vegetable based meals and fantastic flavours so this is a book I’d really like to explore!
Slow Cooker without the Calories – Justine Pattison £5 rrp £14.99
I love my slow cooker and it’s a great place to cook low calorie, tasty meals. If like me you still haven’t got over the effects of Christmas on your waistline then this book sounds just the ticket!
Life Guide to Digital Photography – Jo McNally £5 rrp £29.95
Almost everyone it seems is taking photographs and uploading to social media and it’s often of a meal or a place they’ve visited. But how many of these pictures are any good? A book like this can really make you stop and think about your composition, angle, lighting etc and take your snaps to a new level. There are many basic rules in photography that once you’re aware of you won’t look back!

Jamie Oliver’s Food Tube – The BBQ Book by DJ BBQ £6.99 rrp £7.99
With summer just around the corner it’s time to spruce up the BBQ and get creative. Every Jamie Oliver recipe I’ve ever tried has been a winner so I’m loving the look of this book which contains 50 recipes to change the way you BBQ!

Salter Round Spiralizer Green £7 rrp £19.99
What better way to keep healthy than by eating spiralized vegetables whick can be used to replace things like pasta or glam up a salad. I like the handle mechanism on this Salter spiralizer as I find having to twist vegetables into a hand held spiralizer a bit of a strain.
Salter 2 in 1 Nutri Slim Blender and Chopper 700w £40 rrp £99.99
Perfect of making juice and smoothies for when you’re on the go (the blending bottle comes with a drinking lid). Then when you need to chop your fruit or veg just flip over onto the mixing jug attachment, there’s even a dough hook attachment! This looks like a really useful gadget for helping you eat a healthy diet!
Victors Drinks Apple Cider Homebrew Kit – 10 pint £10 rrp £15.99
I have to admit my drink of choice is always cider so I’m loving this kit! Imagine how impressed your friends would be at your next BBQ if you told them you’d brewed your own cider. Just add yeast and water, wait 48 hours and you’ll have 10 pints of home brew. The cider keeps for 20 days once made.
Black Intempo Vinyl Record Player (also comes in red) £35 was £60 rrp £89.99
Every good foodie gathering needs some cool tunes and what better way to add some beats than this Black Intempo Vinyl Record Player with built in speakers. I had one very similar to this as a teen and had great fun playing all my parents’ old vinyl and then acquiring my own! However this model is bang up to date with a wireless capability due to its rechargable lithium battery and you can also play tunes via your Smartphone using its Bluetooth function! Would be great for summer picnics and BBQs!
I do hope you like My Hot Foodie Picks for Summer, which are your favourites? You might also like to check out My Cookery Book Wish List from The Works!

Fab Amy, it also does Bluetooth if no vinyl to hand:-)
