This month it is my turn to host Credit Crunch Munch which is a joint challenge being run myself and the lovely Helen at Fuss Free Flavours. I’m really pleased at how popular this challenge has become and I look forward to some new Spring time recipes, maybe we can cook our way out of this cold weather!
As usual you have free reign over what types of dishes you submit but remember frugality should be at the heart of them! To further tempt you to enter, I have arranged for one random entrant (UK & Ireland only) to win an Oxo Good Grips Stainless Steel Rotating Utensil Holder. If you’re anything like me your utensils are wedged into a holder where you need the skill of Uri Geller to extract them each time you need one!
We want to know how you enjoy great food, but still spend less or save some money. Think about…
- Dishes using cheaper ingredients – cheap cuts of meat or vegetarian
- Meals using leftovers
- Meals using up the ends of packets
- Substitutions of cheaper ingredients
- Packed lunches
- Meals that use less energy to cook
- Pressure cooking
- Slow cooking
- Faster cooking – less oven time for example
- Batch cooking for the freezer
- Sustainable foods
- Food you have grown yourself
- Meals from reduced food in the supermarket
Credit Crunch Munch To take part, simply blog about any money saving idea that is food related. There are a few rules:
But feel free to:
Tell me about your money saving ideas on the linky below! I am also making this a blog hop, so feel free to grab the code and add to your post too. Let’s spread the money saving meme! Yay! I’m finally a participant! Just shared a delicious recipe I learned to make from my friend Anneli – and I even had some times for making it more frugal… Thanks so much for hosting!
