As someone who can never have enough scissors I was very keen to review the Fiskars Cuts+More Scissors and the Fiskars Colours Kitchen Scissors.
I’ll let Fiskars tell you the technical stuff first!
“The Cuts+More Scissors combine multiple tools in one:
High-quality blades – for cutting paper, plastic packaging, twine, fabric and more
Power notch – to cut light rope
Wire cutter – for cutting wire without damaging the blades
Twine cutter – to cut twine cleanly and quickly
Pointed awl tip – for piercing small holes in cardboard, leather and more
Bottle opener – can be used with the cover in place
Titanium-coated, take-apart knife – for cutting large and awkward objects
Cover – includes an integrated ceramic scissor sharpener and tape cutter for opening boxes
Dishwasher safe – for easy cleaining”.
These scissors are great for so many purposes both in and outdoors. I particularly like the parcel tape cutting blade which is part of the cover, it was just a case of stabbing the tape and then running the cutter along the tape, no more blunting scissors to do the same job.. Also, I can’t tell you how many times we lose the bottle opener in the kitchen drawer so to have one on these easy to find scissors is a real bonus. Best of all though I discovered that the bottle opener could also be used to release the vacuum on an un-opened jar so that it can be opened more easily.
The scissor sharpener which is also built into the cover is a brilliant idea to keep the blades in tip top condition. I tested out the wire cutter and that worked really well saving you from damaging the scissor’s blades. Then let’s not forget that these are actual scissors too and I just love the classic scissor sound they make as the blades meet, the action is so positive, a real joy to use. The blades even come apart really simply by opening up the scissors fully and unhinging them. Then you can use one of the blades as a knife, a genius idea! I look forward to getting to know my Cuts+More Multi-tool Scissors better as I have only really scratched the surface with the amount of things they can do. I think these scissors would be particularly brilliant for someone just starting up home but actually probably all homes should have a pair like this because then you’d never loose your individual gadgets again, they’re all just on one hand tool. These scissors retail at £18.99.
The only thing I would point out is that when placing the cover back on the scissors keep your fingers well away from the open area on the side, I managed to catch my fingers a couple of times (not badly) so will be keeping them well away from there from now on.
Next I tried out the Fiskars Colours Kitchen Scissors in Juicy (yellow). These are “for cutting food and opening packages in the kitchen. Serrated blades keep materials in place. Adjustable blade tension.
- 21 cm
- 80 g
- Stainless steel
- Dishwasher safe”.
Again I love the positivity of the blades and the sound they make as they cut. You can tell Fiskars are the world’s number one scissor brand and have been making scissors since 1649! Whether you’re cutting up bacon or opening packaging these are the perfect go to scissors in the kitchen. They come in 4 colours, as well as the Juicy they come in Coconut, Egglant and Water. These scissors retail at £15.99.

As they’re high quality and I need them!

I’d love a pair of good quality robust kitchen scissors – might have to chain them to the worktop so they don’t go walkabout though x

The scissors I have are capable of diddly squat!

All the scissors I buy end up braking so would love a descent pair

I only have some cheap scissors that aren’t any good as scissors, let alone do other tasks like the Fiskars. I am starting to get into different crafts, and these would be so useful. Plus they look suitable for my wrist, I have found it hard over the years to find scissors that dont aggravate a medial problem, and these look just the job to suit that issue. I can slao imagine not needing to buy any more scissors for a very long time with these.

they look so fabulous and multifunctional. a real must for the kitchen!

Because the scissors I do have seem to have a habit of disappearing when I need them (along with all my good pens!). If I won these I wouldn’t let anyone else use them. 🙂
