Hands up who likes a really simple slow cooker recipe. Me too, which is why I’m sharing this 2 Ingredient Slow Cooker Pulled Gammon (Shredded Ham) with you today!

It’s a recipe that started off life as The Best Slow Cooker Gammon Recipe over on This Mummy, a blog that was run by Laurenne Hopkins. I have made this recipe many times over the years and even used it to make my Quiche Lorraine with Slow Cooked Gammon.

So fast forward to today and Laurenne is now running a fab new vegan blog called Laurenne Hopkins!

Hence she has very kindly allowed me to share my version of her recipe with you. It would have been such a shame for this fab recipe to disappear so I’m very happy to carry the torch forward!

So how do you make 2 Ingredient Slow Cooker Pulled Gammon?

Well it’s as easy as 1,2,3! First you put your gammon joint in the slow cooker.

Raw gammon in a slow cooker (Crockpot).

Then you tip on a tin of pineapple chunks in juice.

Gammon with a tin of pineapple poured over it in a slow cooker (crockpot).

Cook on high for 4 – 6 hrs on high or 6– 8 hrs on low.

Gammon & pineapple chunks cooked in a slow cooker. (crockpot).

Then once cooked pull or shred the gammon (ham) with 2 forks! How easy is that!

Can you eat the pineapple once the gammon has cooked?

Don’t get tempted to eat the pineapple, it’s purely to add sweetness to the gammon and will taste really salty. If you want to serve the pulled gammon with pineapple then fry some fresh pineapple rings (or tinned) in a little oil in a griddle pan for a couple of minutes each side.

How long does leftover pulled gammon (shredded ham) keep for?

It will keep for 3-4 days in the fridge or you can freeze it.

Notes

My 1 kg joint took exactly 4 hrs on high to cook perfectly. It was the first time I’d used a 30% lower salt gammon and I’d thoroughly recommend this if you can find one (mine was from Aldi).
To serve with pineapple, fry pineapple rings (preferably fresh) in a little oil in a griddle pan for 2 minutes each side.

We love gammon, but I was never keen on boiling it in a stock pot. Eager to give this recipe a try we bought a 2kg gammon with rind and I had it on low for 8 hours. BEST gammon I ever cooked, declared a new favourite last night. Thanks, I am now prepared for winter 🙂 !!!

I soak the ham in cold water for a few hours prior to cooking to get rid of the salt

This is such a simple recipe and it sounds great, I bet the pineapple gives such a nice flavour to the gammon.
